The Mt. Healthy Police Department would like to welcome you to our fine community. The Police Department is a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year operation, and is authorized to have 11 full-time police officers. We are currently operating with 6 full-time officers and 11 part-time officers. We are located at the City Municipal Building, 7700 Perry Street, side entrance.
When calling the non-emergency telephone number from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. weekdays, and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays, the call will be forwarded to a cellular telephone inside a police vehicle and you will have direct contact with a police officer.
We encourage our residents to join the Community Block Watch Program. A Block Watcher's objective is to watch their adopted block and if observing criminal or unusual activities, to report them to the Police Department. This program establishes a formal network for concerned citizens to report emergency problems. Meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers. For further information contact Officer Paul Scott at 728-3183.
We also have a D.A.R.E. Program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) in our elementary schools. The D.A.R.E. Officer's main audience is students in fifth and sixth grade classes who will soon be teens attending junior high school. The D.A.R.E. Instructor stays on campus during the day, interacting with students during lunch and recess. Parents, teachers, and school administrators also benefit from the program. Instructors hold special workshops highlighting the signs of substance abuse, how to intervene and where to seek assistance.
If there is any way the Police Department can be of any assistance to you or your family, please call us at 728-3183. It will be a pleasure to serve you.
